Attorney Ekpu developed a passion for justice and equality at a young age, as a daughter of professors who believed in championing for equal education standards. In nursing practice, Ekpu began to observe the disparities that existed between the knowledge African Americans and people of color had about their health and the care and treatment they received in acute care settings. In 2013, she was awarded the DISCOVER© Global Women’s Initiative for her research and writings on how gender equality leads to gender equity and the impact it has on the global economy. Subsequently, in an effort to combine both nursing and the law, Ekpu relocated to Chicago for an opportunity at the prestigious and nationally ranked medical malpractice law firm, Clifford Law Offices. There she worked under the direct mentorship of Bradley Cosgrove, assisting him in winning the largest medical malpractice verdict in Illinois in 2014 and other multimillion-dollar medical malpractice verdicts and settlements, inside and out of the courtroom.
Attorney Ekpu is a litigation attorney who specializes in trial advocacy, civil litigation, civil rights, health law, compliance and immigration.
